World of Sweets
Event Branding
Curating the Vibe
The creative direction for this event centers around comfort, nostalgia, and a general feel-good vibe, with some points of inspiration included vintage cookbooks, picnics, and sepia photos. World of Sweets’ brand was designed to support the event’s goal of sparking connection with strangers through a shared love of desserts.

World of Sweets is a conceptual on-campus dessert festival designed to bring the UNCC and Charlotte communities together through a shared love of desserts. The features of this event include dessert sampling booths, a contest for the best dessert of the event, and an outdoor dessert history museum. World of Sweets was designed with location and atmosphere foremost, ensuring the event runs smoothly and is enjoyable for all!
The Ingredients
World of Sweets’ brand identity utilizes a palette of warm and cool pastels paired with friendly, nostalgic typefaces. The logo for the event showcases figures with “dessert heads” to symbolize connection between strangers with diverse tastes. Custom patterns and original sepia-filtered photography were also incorporated into this brand.
Event Designs
The event schedule for World of Sweets is designed in a grid format inspired by recipe cards. Event signage included small pre-event banners and multiple welcome flags, as opposed to one welcome sign to accomodate the open layout of the event’s location. Two versions of oven mitts were also designed as swag items.
I have also designed the full layout of this event on a map of Belk Plaza to ensure a good flow from one section to another. The path of the dessert museum is also in the shape of a pickaxe to represent Niner Pride!
