Autoethnography Poster + Research

“Quietest People, Loudest Minds”

Self-Research

The research for my autoethnography poster consisted of taking the answers to a 10-question interview, and drawing key themes from them to direct the design of the poster.

Being an introvert, plus the idea of having a “loud mind,” has its ups and downs, which I aimed to express through this poster. The blurred yellow text strewn about the poster represents all the thoughts in my head that I worry about and/or try to keep up with. But on a more positive note, the bright 80s-inspired colors and patterns represent creativity, imagination, and inner worlds I like to get lost in.

This autoethnography poster is the project of mine that is most representative of who I am as a person and a designer. After collecting some research about myself, I figured out how to visually express the data in a poster format, including character traits, inspirations, personal goals, and aesthetic preferences.

The title of this poster, Quietest People, Loudest Minds, is taken from a famous quote attributed to Stephen Hawking. As an introvert myself, I felt connected to this phrase since I also have a lot of thoughts and ideas in my head that I often struggle to express verbally. However, I was able to find that self-expression through creating my own designs, including this autoethnography poster.
